There is always at least one story (but usually more) behind each piece of clothing or accessory I’ve worked on.
This Four Blues Jacket has a really rich past. It first became a jacket when I was still doing my internship and working on side sewing projects, mostly still just for friends and for myself. When I happened to have some leftover jeans cut-outs and a few torn old jeans, the idea surfaced: combine them into one jacket for exactly one right person – me. 🙂
When the old jacket becomes the new one.
That’s the Loop in one piece.
Four Blues Denim Jacket: how one jacket became a pattern
That first version (Four Blues jacket – original) had four antique-inspired buttons at the front, an asymmetrical length, bold bright stripes on the back, front pockets and on the shoulders, which made epaulette-style details. It felt a bit military, but also feminine: theatrical streetwear, edgy, romantic, modern. I wore it proudly for years.

Then two things happened.
The size didn’t fit anymore, and it got a tear at the underarm seam. So I had to decide: repair it in a semi-visible style, or redo it from scratch and make a completely new version.
So, it became a new jacket after another upcycling loop. And the good thing that came out of it: I created a pattern that can be multiplied and adapted to the wearer’s measurements.
What’s different now
The new jacket has a deep V front that closes with a pair of brass snaps instead of the pearly buttons, a pointed front, and a curved swallowtail at the back. Where the first one felt like an officer’s coat, this one is closer to a tailcoat: cleaner, more workwear than ceremonial, and easier to wear.
Denim: made again from four pairs of jeans. Depending on how the blues fall, it can be nearly one colour or properly patchworked. No two are the same.
Sleeves: longer or shorter, with buttons for a richer look, or without for a simpler, blazer feel.
Back strap: adjustable waist strap with swivel snap hook and brass snap fastener

Our contribution
In my logical mind, it makes real sense or even necessity to use as much of the natural textiles that already exist, and do what we can to extend their lifespan.
That’s our contribution: using pieces that are no longer repairable, and would otherwise be thrown away and give the new forms and the next unexpected life to live.
And if you also like the aesthetic, you’re in the right place. 🙂
Feel free to comment, suggest, or disagree – all of it welcome.
Two ways to get one
Ready-to-wear: the finished pieces come and go in the webshop, depending on what denim comes in. When one is gone, it’s gone.
Made-to-order: the same jacket, made to your measurements, with the sleeves and closures you choose, it even doesn’t have to be made of denim. It comes with one free fitting round, like every made-to-order piece. A jacket that doesn’t fit ends up in a drawer, and that’s not the point.
